Daniel David Palmer was a self-educated (as were many people before But now, though Lillard, Palmer was on a new "Voila", he accidentally discovered
how to jump start healing
What made this different from the gross
manipulation Interestingly, B.J. was quite inventive, too. In
fact, he coined the radio business term--"broadcasting."
Previously, broadcasting was an agricultural term meaning to throw
out seeds (ideas). In 1924, B.J. had the first radio station west
of the Mississippi, WOC (or, Wonders Of Chiropractic). In 1928 he
purchased WHO
D.D. Palmer gave the first adjustment in 1895. Dr. B.J. Palmer, his son, developed upper cervical work. It
was called "H.I.O." or "hole in one" because of its
power. Dr. John F. Grostic developed an upper cervical technique
using less downward force, different analytical tools for xray analysis,
and a table specially made for the technique. It was called
"Grostic technique." There were many collaborators with Dr.
Grostic, one of whom was Dr. Ralph Gregory , another was Dr.
Humber (J.K.). When Dr. Grostic died in the early '60s, the group split,
eventually becoming N.U.C.C.A., Orthospinology, and Atlas
Orthogonal work. As you can see in our group
comparison chart, the similarities were great and the differences
were few. Dr. Sid Williams, from Life
Chiropractic University has been instrumental in the recognition of
upper cervical work. His annual Upper Cervical conference was the
closest thing we had to unity until the formation of the Academy of
Upper Cervical Chiropractic Organizations in 1994. Dr. John D. Grostic, the son of the founder of the Grostic
technique, was the head of the research department at Life
College. , now University He and Dr. Williams were
responsible for the Upper Cervical Conference until his death in 1995. D.D. Palmer, Dr. B.J. Palmer, Dr. Grostic, Dr. Gregory, Dr. Humber,
and Dr. Grostic are gone. Their work remains for us to carry on. |
